Question / Help Trying to stream on a low end pc, best settings?

Hi guys, I'm looking to stream League of Legends on my PC. I always thought my PC would be too old but ever since a friend of mine with an even older PC managed to stream, I thought I should give it a shot.

I made sure to try different settings and see what works best before I made this post. I'm trying to stream at a decent quality, I know I can't stream in 1080p or anything but I'm happy with anything around 480p. I tried switching up my quality and bitrate to see what works best, but since I don't really understand what both of those do, I didn't get really far.

I didn't really see any difference between having my bitrate on 600 kbps or 3500 kbps, and when I changed the quality, the quality of the stream didn't really go up or down either. My friend said that the stream was on a decent quality with no lag when I put the quality on 0 and bitrate on 600 kbps, but this gave me very low FPS in game, around 20-25 while I normally have 80-100 FPS. I am also using Game Capture as a source since I heard that it won't lower my fps as much.

What I'm looking for is someone to tell me what settings work best for me based on my specs and especially WHY.

The preview window does not show the encoded quality. If you want to do some tests to see how it looks on the viewer's end, you need to record to file output with the settings you're testing.

If you don't know what settings to use, it's generally recommended to use the estimator, though you could probably do 540p at least just fine I'm guessing.

what game are you planning to stream? because this system wont be able to stream much and also perform well ingame :(

overclock your cpu, and i think it's really pointless to stream with 2 core cpu


get something at least 4-core if you want to do this
