Question / Help Trying to stream C&C games...

I just recently bought “C&C The Ultimate Collection” and I would love to stream one title at a time starting with C&C Tiberian Sun. When the game is already launched, Xsplit is not detecting the game in full-screen (won’t let me manually locate it), but OBS is detecting it in the “Global Source” settings.

I still get a blank screen when Preview Stream is activated. Yes I tab in and out of the game to see if OBS is capturing and it is not. :( I was wondering if anyone knew how to properly setup older C&C games for live stream. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I am sure the newer games will not be an issue to stream such as C&C 4 and so on.

I too wish to stream Tiberian Sun. Unfortunately Im not having any luck there either. But i can help you with the earlier Cnc Gold and Red Alert.

I used Cnc-ddraw http://hifi.iki.fi/cnc-ddraw/#download. Just download and put into cnc and ra folders.

It allows you to run cnc and ra in a window. Using the window capture in obs, one can stream these 2 games.

Im still working on the Tiberian Sun issue :P.

I suggested this to someone intending to stream Rollercoaster Tycoon 2, which has some issues as well -- run the game fullscreen inside of a Virtual Machine, run that VM as a window and then simply capture that window in OBS.

Given the fact those C&C titles are rather old by now it should not be too big of an issue to run it at decent framerates inside of a VM. Without the need for any custom hacks, mods or wrappers.

Hey i had the same problem its the reason why i found this thread.

For C&C Tiberian Dawn and Red alert 1 i can say: use the hi res fan mods and play the games in windowed mode then OBS will work.

For Tiberian Sun i search a working programm to capture the game at the moment nothing found :-(
