Question / Help Trouble with streaming PS4: Elgato/Optical Audio/Chat Delay

So, I finally managed to get my Elgato to work with sound through to OBS and to still get sound in my headset, which is an Astro A50, which is optical audio.

My question and potential problem is if I'm in a party and we're chatting via the PS4 (in game), since there's a delay on the Elgato, I'll be responding to things that haven't been said yet because of the delay.

Is my only solution to this to just get an internal capture card so the delay is minimized? If I set an audio delay via OBS, then any time I cut to my webcam, I won't be in sync with my webcam, unless there's a way to delay both video and audio. I could just not use my webcam as well.

I'd prefer to hear that my only solution is to buy an internal card, like the C985 from AVerMedia, as the Elgato has been giving me a lot of grief lately.

You can delay the mic and webcam audio. For webcam I believe its in the webcam properties.

For mic, its under the sound settings of OBS.

For microphone delay go to Settings>Settings> Audio - Last option is Mic Syn Offset (milliseconds): set this to 1500

For webcam right click the Webcam Source >select Properties> Left hand side, middle of the window right above "Chroma Key" is the option "Use Buffering (milliseconds): set this to 1500

I have a question for you though, are you using your A50's microphone for both the PS4 party chat and your microphone for OBS? I have a friend that is curious about the set up and I'm having difficulty finding an answer

Check this out: http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=101&cp_id=10114&cs_id=1011412&p_id=10251&seq=1&format=2

Converts HDMI audio to any possible format, including optical. I use it, and it works. Let me know if you need more info about it.
