Bug Report Trillian In-Game chat overlay crashing OBS.

Hello everyone,

I have been battling with the single monitor setup for streaming for quite awhile now, trying to find the best way to keep tabs on the chat without having to Alt tab. I know of several ways found on these forums, like the script with the chat overlay, but the fact miss clicking it during action would lock you out from your game annoyed me a bit, I decided to try the trillian chat overlay.

I stream and play League of Legends.

-OBS v0.522b
-OBS Scene Switcher plugin

The moment I enable chat overlay within the trillian options, and open OBS, minimize it, then click it again, it just closes on me. I have also tried starting OBS, streaming, going in game and by the time I alt tab I realized it closed again.

The moment I disable the chat overlay, OBS works perfectly.

What could be causing this?
Maybe the order in how I start up streaming (what I open first etc..)

Thanks in advance

Overlay apps that hook into OBS tend to cause these issues. If the overlay app has exception settings of some sort make sure to add the OBS executable to it.

That was exactly the issue, thank you kind sir. Awesome work with OBS. The community loves you!

Do you happen to know what the Trillian hook module is called? If you could run OBS with the Trillian overlay loaded and use Process Explorer to get a list of the loaded DLL files, we can add a compatibility check inside OBS.

I think I know what you need, but just to confirm.

I need to run OBS, with trillian and the overlay, and head into Task Manager? (win8)
Then find the processes under the Trillian name and list them?

Let me know!
