Sorry if this is old news or come up before - but I have just come across this application. Is it possible to set up a screen record session and have it managed by a timer? E.g. set up to record either a specific area of the Desktop or window and have it start recording at say 03.00 and stop recording at 04.20? Thank you.

You can schedule an output session to end using the Output Timer:
Tools > Output Timer
You should be able to use command line options to have OBS start recording on startup:

The last piece would be an external script to launch OBS at specified time, say, using cron.
