Question / Help Thinking about getting a 2nd PC for streaming

I have an 8350 and r270x, and while my system does fine streaming, I find myself lowering settings to get optimal frames in game. I want to be able to stream the games I play in all of their glory. Maxed out, how they should be. I was wondeirng if an i3 with quick sync would be sufficient for 720p @ 60fps encoding since the only thing that will be loading the cores is having programs open in general.

You need to be aware of the quality trade-off you get by using QSV, especially in low-bitrate situations. If it's fine for you, then go for it. Else I would recommend getting an i5 which can handle the enconding easily with x264 which gives you more control over the quality.

if you're buying a dedicated streaming machine, you either want a Haswell i3 (as the quicksync quality is much better on Haswell CPU's) or a Sandybridge/Ivybridge i5/i7 for x264 encoding.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have a 4 upload and usually use a 3k bitrate to stream. I think I like the idea of having an i5 to use its x264 encoding just in case QS doesnt work as well as I want it to.
