Question / Help Test game stream?

Hi,

When i have a game and a cam in my OBS scene and i'm in the OBS window (with the game minimized), if i run the preview mode i cannot see the game (its area is just black), just the cam. Is there any way to see the game even if its minimized in the preview mode?

In most cases: No!
Games that are minimized stop rendering and hence cannot be captured in most cases. Some games will put out a static picture while minimized, but most will just show black. I personally run all games in borderless Window mode so I can tab out fast and have no problem with the minimizing.

Borderless mode means that you have to put OBS to capture monitor.

- Capturing monitor works worse than capturing game?
- A game running in windowed borderless mode runs worse thatn in fullscreen?

No, yes and no.
You can use Window/Monitor or Game capture (under Win7 dont use Monitor capture but under Windows 8 its just as good as the others) As mentioned I run all my games in borderless window mode and never experienced any worse performance compared to a fullscreen game. If that is the case for you there must be something configured wrong, for example aero off or old gfx drivers in most cases. (Or the game is really badly programmed ;()
