First of all, I'd like to thank you for the time and effort you've put into this program.

Second of all, two things:
1) Is there any way to put in custom music and sound files for notifications, I've tried placing them in the sounds folder, but they don't show up on the program in the drop down, even after a restart.

2) When I change the location of the Notification popup so I can see who has joined to Custom, and move it to my secondary screen, it just stays there, and doesn't fade out, is there a way to fix this? clicking the X at the corner doesn't work.

Place them in the right folder:
[USER DOCUMENTS]/TeeBoard/sounds

There's nothing to fix, this is intended.

The next update of TeeBoard will have a change to the communication mechanic between TeeBoard and its widgets. Up to now I've been using something called a LocalConnection. However this caused problems in XSplit (well XSplit is broke) and also limited the amount of copies you could run at any given time as a LocalConnection is a 1-on-1 communication channel.

The new widgets will use a Socket connection. This removes the 1-on-1 limitation but also opens it up to 3rd party tools that have the ability to communicate via a Socket connection.
Let me know if that's something you're interested in.

I was just gonna ask about the Follower/Subscriber/Donation alert that should pop up in the lower right corner when you get a notification. But I guess this might have something to do with that. Anyway, it doesnt come up every time for me. Just a few times. maybe 40% of the notifications. I get the sound 100% of the times but like i said not the popup.

The notification window should always display and is not affected by the widget communication mechanic. If the popup window doesn't show, it may actually be hidden behind your game, especially if the game is in true fullscreen mode. If you're absolutely sure that is not the case, let me know.

It happens with most games I stream. I've tried using both borderless windowed fullscreen and true fullscreen. The games i stream is Diablo 3, League of Legends, Smite and CS:GO. Does it matter if I stream with aero on or off?

Haven't seen or heard of any issues with certain games (which doesn't mean there isn't one). If it happens in borderless window as well, there might be an issue. I'll see if I can find anything.

Does it matter if I stream with aero on or off?

Hard to say, I'll have to do some testing.

Well, I did some quick testing with a more aggressive "always in front" approach and as I thought, that's not a good idea as this will kick any fullscreen game out of fullscreen (and often make it switch to windowed mode). I guess it's just the nature of the beast (exclusive fullscreen mode).

I may add an option to the system tray icon to enable/disable a more aggressive "always in front" for the notification window. Should help when playing games in borderless fullscreen.

Thanks for the quick replies. It's not really a problem, it's just annoying when you get a follower or a donation and you get the sound but have to tabout and open check teeboard to see who followed or donated.

Still the best streaming tool out there with out a doubt. Keep up all the good work!

Hey once again, feels like im only whining :P But soundcloud updated their API so it doesnt work with lastFM anymore. Is there anyway you can make teeboard support it? It stopped working for me about two days ago and then today I read this. http://arcomul.nl/blog/2013-11-11/soundcloudscrobbler-not-working/ Anyway, thanks again for this tool =)

I've done a quick google search on SoundCloud and saw that the only way they support scrobbling was via Facebook. Sorry, but this sounds more like an issue with SoundCloud and not Teeboard.

I'd like to give some huge props to DeejaVU for this creation. Thank you so much for this tool, it makes a huge difference having 1 tool that can do so much instead of starting every stream session opening up up to 5 additional programs to get a clock going, get a follower notification, and a live music text...etc...I'm very excited to see the future of this project.

Have you tried the plugin mentioned in that post? That's the one I'm using (not for soundcloud though). In case it doesn't work, I'm sure it's just a matter of time before someone comes up with a working solution.

Mind you, last.fm has been having issues for a few days now, so it may just be that the plugin you're using actually still works, but that last.fm was just down. https://twitter.com/lastfmsupport

The strength of TeeBoard is also its weakness. It combines a lot of 3rd party tools and services. If those break, so does TeeBoard and there's literally nothing I can do about that.
  • last.fm api
  • twitch api
  • giantbomb api
  • imgur api
None of these have 100% uptime. Now and then they just do break (some more than others).

EDIT:
I've just testing Soundcloud with the plugin I had installed and it just works:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/lastfm-scrobbler/hhinaapppaileiechjoiifaancjggfjm

Mind you it doesn't work with all music on soundcloud. It depends if info (author, track, etc..) is available for the music you're listening to. But it def does work if that info is present.

Sorry to bother you, but I can't seem to be able to log in to TeeBoard. I've been trying to log into my Twitch account within TeeBoard to authorize it but everytime it keeps resetting itself (i.e. I put in my login info, hit Log On, and it goes back to the login screen). I've tried reinstalling TeeBoard and Adobe Air but I keep running into the same problem.

I've been searching to see if anybody else had the same problem but I haven't seen anything like it

Hey PunZ,
A few people have been running into this and it's a bug with the Twitch API. For some unknown reason your account is being treated as a newly created one and Twitch is redirecting to the wrong location. Twitch is currently investigating the bug: https://github.com/justintv/Twitch-API/issues/195

In the mean time, you'll have to jump through a few hoops and authorize manually. Contact me here: https://sites.google.com/site/deezja/contact and I can walk you through the process.

DeezjaVu updated TeeBoard with a new update entry:

Update v0.1.2 beta

TeeBoard has been updated to v0.1.2

Check the patch notes for more info.

Patch notes:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1jALdH0XK9haxU7oQDi_LF9cnPxBKcBUn9uVETCzuFXk/pub

If you already have TeeBoard installed, you will be notified of the update the next time you start the app.

In case TeeBoard doesn't automatically (re)start after the update, check the Task Manager and kill the process, then restart TeeBoard.

Read the rest of this update entry...

Thanks for update and taking care of backing up custom widgets!

However I experience the same problem as during last update:

After update I could not start application, had to kill TeeBoard process (not visible on task bar) and then I could start new one. Not sure if installed correctly but saw release notes upon start so I guess yes.
Only after doing that widgets-old got created and I got notification about it.

It might be that some settings in my system cause that, cause I don't see anybody else reporting that....

Also, I can't get working Poll widget, testing show nothing.
Text version works well but do not display results, just question and options.

The update entry clearly says: In case TeeBoard doesn't automatically (re)start after the update, check the Task Manager and kill the process, then restart TeeBoard.

So I'm aware of it, but don't know what's causing this, most likely a race condition. The thing is, it only happens after an update, which makes it super hard to track down.

Also, I can't get working Poll widget, testing show nothing.
Text version works well but do not display results, just question and options.

When you click the test button, it takes 5 seconds for the first result to appear. After that it will display random results every 5 seconds for 1 minute (or 30 seconds, I forgot).

In TeeBoard -> IRC Widgets -> Poll, open the preview by clicking the "eye" icon at the top right. Click the test button and wait 5 seconds. You should then see random voting results. If that is not the case, let me know.

The text file works as intended and does not contain any voting results.

"Eye" test works fine.
Widget do not show anything in OBS using teeboard-poll.html
