Question / Help task manager shows less than 1% network utilization when trying to stream? And huge frame drops?

Hello all. Since I set up my new pc I haven't been able to stream at all. Whenever I start the stream, the Kbps meter goes red and I get 30%-50% frame drop. I'm running a i5 4690 with a 970. My upload is around 5mbs. The only option that helps a bit is disabling CBR, it improves a bit but the frame drops are still unacceptable. I've tried lowering ingame settings as well.

I also uninstalled the killer network manager tool and it didn't help.

I however just noticed in the Resorce monitor inside the task manager, in the network tab, that my bandwidth/network utilization is very very low. I started OBS and began streaming and still the network utilization was barely 1%. I'm guessing this could be the cause of my issues maybe, perhaps anyone else here has knowledge about it and how to fix OBS to utilize my connection properly?

Hi there!

1. Upload log
https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/problem-make-sure-to-post-a-log-and-or-crash-dump-howto.97/

2.
If you're streaming to twitch you _need_ to have CBR enabled, and CBR padding.

3.
Task manager utilization only shows what percentage are used of your total theoretical bandwidth as negotiated by your NIC. If you are on a gigabit ethernet connection 1% equals 10Mbit/s. In other words, not usable at all for streaming troubleshooting or diagnostics.

4.
Do a test with this tool towards your regions' servers and post results.

Normal speedtests (like speedtest.net and the likes) aren't relevant for streaming other than to give you a very rough ballpark on what your upload might be able to handle

Like what Bamse said but since this is a new build, you might want to also check your network card drivers and do a complete wipe of them and reinstall from your motherboard's website (even if they are older drivers), they are meant for your NIC.

Thanks for taking the time to lend some help! I used that twitch bandwidth tester and all the North American servers and the Bandwidth for all was around 700-1200, and every single one says 0 in the quality tab?

And to answer dping, my motherboard is ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer LGA 1150 Intel Z97, which comes with the Qualcomm Atheros Killer Network Manager stuff. I uninstalled the killer network and installed latest drivers for it but it did not help. Are there older drivers I should look into?

And here is my logfile

the quality 0 means the connection is not stable. So even though it says 1200 max, its not constantly 1200 bitrate which is what twitch needs.

When you uninstalled the driver, After removing the software driver, did you right click on the device in control panel, select uninstall check "remove driver", rebooted then installed the driver from the site? Just make sure you have the driver to restinall, you dont want to be stuck with no network connectivity.

As for your connection stalling, this is somewhere between you, your ISP and twitch, since its all ingests, I would think its somewhere between you and your ISP but then again, it could be somewhere else as well. try rebooting router as well.
