Hey there OBS Forum, I'm running with this setup and having NO dropped frames, however getting this Error: Taking too long to encode, skipping frames.

Setup:

AMD Athlon 4300 Quad Core 3.8 GHz
8 gb ram
nvidia geforce 650 ti
1920 x 1080

Stream Settings:
1920x1080
ultrafast
disable aero
max bitrate 1900
encode x264
enable cbr padding

Thanks for your time! :D

All suggestions are appreciated

Can you walk me through posting a log? It's been so long since I have posted on here. I forgot! :/

Thanks Goldio! :)

Is this an AMD Athlon 4300 or a FX 4300? Cause my Google search redirected me to a FX 4300.

Either way, what is your Process Priority Class set to? Make sure it's set to Above Normal, since Normal will leave you with frozen screens and that error.

I believe that is a log of the downscale, but I really would like to stream at 1080. I get no drop frames, but it gives me that error that says skipping frames for taking too long to encode :/

I dont know if this is the source of the problem but you'll need ALOT higher bitrate to stream 1080p. 2500 or 3000 kbps bitrate preferably.

Please read the thread Goldio posted initially and follow the instructions it contains. Your CPU isn't powerful enough to keep up with real time encoding at 1080p.

So that means no matter what settings I change, I won't be able to stream smoothely?

It means you should read the link! Its entire purpose is to help correct the problem you're having. Recording at 1080p will likely be difficult due to your hardware, but there are steps you can take like downscaling the recording that will make things work better.
