Question / Help Switching to Wireless

I was just wondering if anyone here streams with a wireless connection successfully. Right now I'm streaming perfectly fine via wired connection but I want to move my computer somewhere where a wired connection will no longer be possible.

Also if anyone has any good wireless adapters to recommend I would greatly appreciate it.
Right now I'm using the router that I received from Comcast which is

I also have a spare router lying around that I could witch to which is the

if someone can tell me which one I should be using or if it matters at all.

thanks!

Do not stream on wireless.
It is VERY prone to interference, and ALL wireless in-use on a given channel shares the same bandwidth. Even on different APs. So if your neighbor is also on channel 1 (for example) on their own AP and starts a large file transfer, your connection will crap out.

As a very poor second-best, Powerline adapters may be something to consider. I strongly advise against these (they introduce significant noise to your three-phase system which can cause LOADS of problems, as well as being susceptible to RF noise from vacuum cleaners, dishwashers, refrigerators, and washing machine/dryers), but at least they're better than wifi.

Why will a wired connection 'no longer be possible'? Not wanting to run wires doesn't count.

I second what FerretBomb says, wireless is poor for streaming, the powerline things are pretty smart and can get you out of a sticky situation. Cat 5 cable is soo cheap. If you existing cable wont reach, but a little Hub and connect the cable so that it will reach :)

Or just a box of Cat-5 cable, a baggie of ends, and a cheap termination tool. Spend five minutes learning the 568-B color code standard (it's used a LOT more than the A standard is). Boom, wiring as long as you need it, up to 300 feet (maximum standards-compliant length for a non-shielded/grounded Cat5e cable). For about twenty bucks, give or take. Or alternately, a bunch of shorter cables for the same price.

I'd still recommend against the Powerlines, but anything is a step up from streaming over WiFi. It's not designed for constant, uninterrupted throughput... and is just rude to stomp on a channel everyone has to share, like that.

I'd have to drill a couple holes in the wall to get a cable to where I'd move my computer. I'll probably just leave it where it is if wireless is that much as hassle :3. Thanks guys!

And another question about the two routers I just posted. Should I use one of those over the other even with a wired connection?
