Question / Help Super low performance with SLI?

A friend of mine is streaming Battlefield 4. He has recently upgraded to SLI setup (on a high end PC), and today he told me he had to disable SLI when streaming, because it cuts his framerate by ridiculous amounts. He said that when not streaming, he was getting up to 150-160 fps. When streaming, he would get extremely fluctuating fps that's not even much higher than single crap on average.
Is this some sort of known problem with OBS and SLI or... does anyone have any idea?
 
OBS does not like SLI.

Read the "SLI information guide" (and link it to your friend) that is in my signature for more information (in general).

If you want to use SLI well, you're going to need OBS multiplatform.
