Hello
I am trying to find any information on using two of the same webcam for my twitch channel. I play D&D and want to have one cam of the game and one cam on the dice box so everyone can see the rolls as they happen. I have heard you can and you cannot run the same webcam using the OBS software. I am wanting to run 2 Logitech HD Pro C920 webcams to do this. Is it possible? I have looked on the forums and also doing Google searches and have not been able to find any information on the same camera conflicting. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
David

Yes it is possible, but you will have to keep in mind that you will probably not be able to run both cameras at 1080p or else you will run into USB saturation issues.

So when I add the second 920 cam it would also be set up as video capture devices in sources?

And when you say USB saturation, your meaning 1920x1080 would be two much? Sorry I have never heard of USB saturation.

Thanks dodgepong

USB 2.0 can only transmit a certain amount of data per second. Running even a single webcam at 1920x1080 comes close to maxing that out, and even one of them at 1080p could cause performance issues. Running two of them on the same USB controller would be way too much, so you have to run them at a lower resolution.
