Question / Help Streaming on full screen issue

I was recently able to stream League of Legends on full screen by setting a scene to Game Capture and selecting league. This worked all last night. However, today I tried to stream again and could get no video feed through Full screen and Game Capture. Running in windowed is not really an option at the moment, as is cuts my frames in half and makes my stream less enjoyable. Is there any way to fix this? Why would it work last night and not today? Any answers appreciated.

According to your log the game capture never initialized. Are you sure you set it to capture the LoL client and not the lobby?

I'm positive, I have a separate window scene for the client. Thanks for the reply though. I really just wanna get this fixed so I can stream back to normal.

I've had that happen a few times in the past, usually after an update of a given program. Not sure why it happens, and doesn't happen every time, but deleting and re-adding the Game Capture source almost always will fix it (until the next patch, at which point it might break again or just keep working).

I'm happy to hear that fix worked for you! Unfortunately, it's a no go for me. was there an update to OBS two nights ago?

Does game capture work for other games?

Does it work when you run LoL in windowed/borderless windowed mode? (It doesn't matter that you get poor performance, the point is to test it, not use it permanently.)

Have you tried rebooting?

Are you running any other programs that could interfere with OBS's ability to hook the game? Things like Razer Game Booster, EVGA Precision, MSI Afterburner, Fraps, an overlay from a program like Mumble or TeamSpeak, etc. Turn anything like that off.

Thanks for the reply Sapiens, it turns out game capture doesn't work for Marvel Heroes either. It did, however; work for LoL on Windowed/borderless. I tried rebooting, no go. I'm not sure about those other programs. I for sure have none of those listed, I don't have any of those installed, but I do have things like "NvBackend" and "nvtray". I'm not entirely sure what those do.

How are you testing this? If you alt-tab out of a fullscreen game it will stop rendering, which often results in a black screen for the OBS preview window. That sounds like what's happening especially if it's working for windowed or borderless windowed mode. Try doing a local recording and then watch the recording to see if things are working, instead of alt-tabbing out to check the OBS preview window.

I've been starting my stream to see if it works on twitch.tv on my laptop so I don't have to alt-tab, I'll try again.

Just as mysteriously as it started working, it is now not working again. Anyone have any clue why this would work sometimes and not others?
