I'm super new to this whole streaming thing. My buddy viewed my stream for me and told me everything was very pixelated and usually I get like 50-60 FPS in game and when I turn on the stream I drop to like 29-32.

What game are you streaming?

You might want to consider downscaling by 2x. 1000kbps is a bit low for an 800p stream. That should help with CPU usage some, as well as reducing pixelation.

Also, I don't recommend streaming over Wireless. It's a much less reliable way to stream. If you can, try to stream over ethernet.

So what should I boost the KBPS to? I kept toying with the numbers to see what it would do with the stream and I feel like the lower it was the less laggy I was in game.

If you're getting high ping, that means your stream and the game are competing too much for your internet connection. First try enabling "Minimize Network Impact" in Broadcast Settings, and if that still doesn't help, try lowering the bit rate that you are streaming at.

The issue that you were experiencing, though, was that streaming was taking a lot of CPU, so if you reduce your resolution rather than increase your bit rate, you'll reduce CPU usage. So I recommend you try that, instead, and see how it goes.

I just tried it out and the FPS lag/drop is completely gone. It's almost as if I'm not streaming at all which is awesome. But my buddy told me the stream is like 480p and I want it to be at least 720 or 1080p if possible.

With your hardware/internet:

* 720p streaming
* No frame lag or pixelation

Pick one.

Let's go for the 720 streaming I'll try to handle some lag. What do you suggest I upgrade for my computer to handle 1080p streaming with no frame lag? And I'll take account the internet into mind as well.

Set your Base resolution at 1920x1080, Downscale 1.5x (720p), and change your x264 preset in Advanced to superfast or ultrafast. Also consider lowering your framerate in Video settings to 25. Then slowly raise your bit rate by increments of 100kbps, starting at 1000kbps, until you start dropping frames, then lower it back down until it stops.

Thanks so I got the FPS problems done. Now I muted my mic on OBS so I don't get an echo problem -- but my friends tell me whenever I talk, the music I have playing in the stream flares up whenever I talk. Any ideas on how to fix?

Your music volume is being adjusted as you speak? So it goes higher or lower? Just go to Control Panel>Hardware & Sound>Sounds>Communications tab> Set to do nothing.

Hmm, well now my mic isn't work anymore. I turned on my stream today and people have been telling me the sound from the game works but my mic doesn't. I haven't changed anything, the mic is on, plugged in.
