Toms Hardware has some pretty great rundowns of the CPUs and such - There are many ways to skin a cat, so start with what you would like to have- even a ready made computer like a alienware or asus - and compare those components... Using "Compare" and "Benchmark" and "Review" along with the product name in google or youtube can help you find similarly competitive products that are close in price and specifications...
I only offer this because it seems like you may not know exactly where to start. i3,i5,i7 all have specific designs and costs associated... It can get a little deep pretty quick... best to scour the web and glean what you think is the best information for your own use...
This method is how I figured out that I should buy this laptop. After all my comparing and sniffing around- I was confident when I found it was said among many reviewers to be a nice value for someone who wants out of the door @ $1300... Got it last month- Maybe you can find a better one for cheaper?!

I don't know much about streaming, but it seems like your computer can be smoking (Good) but if your internet isn't Da Kine (Quality)- Streaming is not gonna be a fun time.
Hope this helps!

I have built many computers before and have a very high end machine, but i am looking to build a computer that runs in conjunction with my computer to free it up so i get higher fps in game while streaming. I am not sure how powerful the second computer that will only stream using a capture are from my main computer to it. My internet is also very good 100 up and 35 down.

depending on your internet connection the need of a really good cpu can vary and also depending on the quality goal you are trying to reach

usually i'd say an i5 should be enough for only streaming 720p60 on fast preset maybe even medium but this is just guessing since most people throw i7 in it or use the xeon e3 line which are technically the same as the i7 just without the igpu in most cases dont forget if you would go with an xeon you most likely need an gpu cause obs needs one and you would also need a decent pci capture card

Idk why but a i7 seems like such over kill for a just a computer to stream in conjunction to another pc. but from what i have seen most people do go with the i7.

the problem is that if you are planning on a streaming pc you plan on using custom 264 settings and lower presets as soon as you hit a lower preset your cpu usage is going to skyrocket already and the i5 simply cant keep track of it even as a streaming machine thats why most of them use i7 and only be able to use some commands and medium preset with 720p60fps

thank you for explaining it!!, would you recommend me just upgrading my main pc to a i7, i currently have a amd fx-9590 vishera and have it overclocked at 5.1 ghz but the game i play cs:go is very cpu heavy and amd's coding sucks so i only get 200-160 fps with random fps drop down to like 120 causeing it to become unplayable because i have a 144hz monitor. but most people i have seen with a i7 have over 400fps

cant really tell you to just upgrade to intel but in my case i also have stable 300fps while streaming 720p60 in csgo but your 9590 shouldnt have that much problem to at least keep a stable 200 fps while streaming tbh
