Hello,
I livestream here and there a bit (normally on YouTube) and was wanting to know if there is a way to select certain audio inputs that are picked up in the recording/stream by application so that it is possible to listen to the stream intermittently to check audio levels while streaming without the stream re-recording its audio and producing terrible echoes? Or is something like this in the works?
If that was hard to follow, consider the following:
I am streaming a game such as Call of Duty: Ghosts while I have the stream page open in a web browser. I have to have the audio muted or else the web browser's audio will also be picked up in a loop during the stream. Tinkering around in Windows Sound Settings I have found that I am able to separate audio outputs for some applications by setting the default to what I want to hear that application from, then switching the default after the application has launched and launching the ones that I want to listen to via another output. However OBS still records all sounds being produced on my computer.
Currently, there is only a "Desktop Audio Device" selection in the Audio tab of the Settings in OBS. Is there a way to separate audio streams as described above, is there a suitable workaround (aside from checking the audio levels via another PC), or is this something being developed (as I understand this software is still in early development)?
One such way that this could be solved (possibly, I'm no code developer so I am just throwing around ideas here) is by allowing an option in the Audio tab of Settings that allows you to select certain applications that you wish to record, and others that you wish to omit from the recording.
Hope that was simple to follow, and I appreciate any replies!
