Question / Help Streaming a Single Player Game

Sorry if this has been posted before but I am very uncertain between the two bitrates.

I searched the forum and came up with 2000 bitrate and 3000 bitrate, now i'm wondering which one is more suited for a game like skyrim?

Also, is there any way to know if OBS is still streaming when you stream a game like skyrim or LoL? Becuase I know of two things right now that gives me a reason to understand that my stream has dissconnected.

First my webcam, it has a green light to it and when it dissapears the stream has dissconnected, and when I tab out I can see the last image of my stream in OBS. Now is there any other way? I'd rather not stream to know later on that it has dissconnected....

For example, I have a program called Action Recorder which sets up a red light in the top right corner of the screen when I record gameplay and when i don't record it turns blue. It would be nice if OBS had had such a thing.

And please don't ask about the dissconnects, i got that one covered in another thread of mine.

3000 Kbps will look better, 2000 Kbps will be less likely to cause buffering issues for viewers. If you're unhappy with the visual quality that 2000 provides, use something higher. You can also try analyzing your log file for any other problems at https://obsproject.com/analyzer
