Question / Help Stream Report: could not connect to server!

make sure there is an exception in your firewall and if you are running a third party software firewall, check to make sure that it isn't blocking OBS.

Hi, i already did that. Also this only popsup while streaming to Youtube! Not when i'm streaming to Twitch.tv.

I'm having the exact same issue. OBS has been able to connect to the YouTube server fine for over a year now, but just over the past few days I get the "can't connect to server" message. I'm using the latest version. If any one could shed some light on this that would be helpful!

If you could, both of you in the advanced tab of OBS, use the bind to interfact option and make sure that your local IPv4 LAN IP address is bound to OBS. There is a possibility that YT is trying to bind to a IPv6 address. Anyway, give that a shot.

a LAN IP address will often look like this
Code:
192.168.0.1
or
192.168.1.8

Tried it, did not work. I guess i'm using Xsplit for a little while that seems to work fine for me.

I even clicked on Reset stream key. Did not fix the problem for me.
yes and then repaste the stream key in obs? you might also try disabling IPv6 in windows. at the moment the only connections your PC should make is IPv4. I think another gentleman had an issue like this a while back. I want to say we did this and had him run as OBS as admin and I think that fixed his issue...

We've had multiple people on IRC today complaining about YouTube as well. If other services are working it may be a problem on YouTube's end; try their backup server.

Thanks for your suggestions thus far. I have disabled IPv6 and ran OBS as an admin, tried both of the YouTube servers and still no luck.

Update. So I found out that someone on our staff added a firewall to the router. We since adjusted the firewall settings to low and I'm now able to stream again with OBS and YouTube! Thanks for the wonderful software that you all provide!
