Question / Help Stream Record Format Audio Issues

My stream settings and quality are fine. My streams are pitch perfect with no issues. However, when I try to watch a recording on Quicktime, the image quality is wonderful but the audio is non-existant. I know that you can watch in VLC, after some research of my own, and watch the videos just fine, audio intact and all. The real issue is, when importing videos into Final Cut Pro, I do not get any of the audio. Was wondering if this was a codec issue, maybe the format is .mp4 but the codec still .flv or something else? Also, if there is a way to resolve this without resorting to the method I just used. Which is, convert .flv files that were downloaded from Nightdev, convert files to .mp4 with converter program and import into Final Cut Pro. As you might have guessed, the image quality was stagnant, to say the least. I recon I could bump the quality of my stream up to 2000 bitrate on the video with a nice audio quality as well but I dont want to do that. I want to keep my overall bitrate at 2000. The converter I use only does bitrate increments of 500, which means I can't use my actual video bitrate, I would have to use 1500 or 2000. I know I could also use 2000 but recording in 60 fps makes for such colossal files and I have limited storage as it is. Well, for now, anyway. Is there anything anyone can do to help, any info is much appreciated. Thanks! Also, this is my first post, so I might not have posted in the right place but I have been looking for a solution for a while now and have not found any so I assumed this was the correct place to post this. Thank you for your time and have a great day.

Maybe play with AAC and MP3 formats. we are talking about audio codecs but this might be a setting that Finalcut and/or quicktime dont like.

Posting your log will help as well so we can see what settings you are using.

Thanks for the reply. You know, you might be right. Maybe FCP will recognize .mp3 but I just use the Twitch recommended settings. They recommend using AAC, I dont want to deviate, unless it will directly resolve my issue, and not cause another on my stream. I actually had a similar problem with a different converter that would not import files to FCP because the codec was different regardless of the file being .mp4. I can post my log, I just would have to log into my Windows partition and I have another video to edit... I can do it later for sure though.

streaming can use MP3 or AAC from my understanding, AAC just being able to better use compression. dont quote me :D

I know this, not ruling anything out at this point. I am fairly certain that both MP3 and AAC work fine in FCP. I have tried both using that old converter I was referencing, because this was one of the solutions I first suspected. Tried many things, this was a while back. I know for a fact that the issue resolved when I changed the codec to H.264. Mind you, this was not the solution I was looking for as I was looking for full MP4 conversion but it worked and the videos were for the internet. I have found a quick fix: grab audio from .flv files and combine with .mp4 video. Even on the lowest setting, the .flv files take so long to covert. Time being the real issue here.
