Question / Help Stream freezing

04:28:59: Total frames encoded: 469, total frames duplicated: 418 (89.13%)

04:28:59: Number of frames skipped due to encoder lag: 418 (89.13%)

couple it times in the 1st log you posted

in general, depending on your game, 1600x900 with 60 fps should be doable on fast preset maybe not on every game but still the amount of duplicated and skipped frames shouldnt be that high usually you try to stay below 1% on each in some cases up to 3% is okay but ~90% is really bad.

according to the 2nd log with 1600x900 45fps
03:23:54: Total frames encoded: 125, total frames duplicated: 79 (63.20%)

03:23:54: Number of frames skipped due to encoder lag: 78 (62.40%)

+ window and game capture things got better but its still really bad

are you trying to capture a game which has some kind of anti cheat tool?

also make sure to run obs as admin

Well, I don't believe the game's I've tried to stream do, MGR: Revengeance, Rage, and Smite. I'm running it in Admin since it requires me to to stream the game, I figure my hardware should be good enough to stream at 1600x900 60fps 720/1080, right?

never forget you are also using a slower preset and you are running game + stream on the same machine

usually recommended would 720p60 or 1080p30 on a single machine and usually keep the preset on veryfast since the quality gain you get for putting it on a slower preset is almost not worth the extra cpu usage you put on it.

and yes your system shouldnt have problems with 720p60 btw your bitrate would be too low anyway even on fast preset when you try to stream 1600x900 on around 2500-3000 bitrate i would suggest going down to 720p60 and keep using your 2500.

and maybe try using the anti cheat feature on game capture and see if that helps also make sure that you dont have any overlay applications running like overwolf from teamspeak or some fps counter from msi afterburner or some razer software and so on ... dont forget to have working and up to date drivers installed. if nothing helps sometimes completely uninstalling obs and reinstalling it can fix stuff and would cost you probably around 5 minutes of setting everything up again

Looking at it it may be the game at fault, been trying with a friend of mine for like 6 hours combined time and it really seems like MGR might be the reason.

yes some game have anti cheat tools which can cause a lot of problems.

you might try using monitor capture and running the game in window mode and see if that fixes anything if not using the anti cheat feature on game capture would be a alternative

I'm gonna test another game or two then see if the same thing happens on them, then we'll be able to figure out, for sure, if it's a game problem or not.

Alright, apparently I'm forced to streaam 1280x720 30fps or it just freezes/has huge frame loss.
