Question / Help Stream Buffering for some people.

Greetings, 1st time here and im sure this question has been asked a milion times but still, im gonna go on and try to explain my problem.

So, i've been streaming for some time now, i uppeg my rig for optimal streaming.

I ussually stream League of Legends using OBS.

My current Rig :

CPU: AMD-FX 4100 @ 3.7Ghz (4 CPU)
Graphics Card: nVidia GeForce GT 220 - 1GB
Memory: 4GB Kingmax @ 2033Mhz
HDD: 500GB WesternDIgital
Monitors: Benq 22"
Keyborad: Microsoft
Mouse: Zalman ZM-M401R
HeadSet: A4Tech Sound Boom

I'm using the Amsterdam, NL server in Obs because i have a good Ping Download/Upload Speed. as seen in this Picture.:

Obs Configuration:

Encoding:

Using CBR & CBR Padding
Max Bitrate 2300
AAC Bitrate 128bitrate

Broadcast Settings:

Amsterdam NL - Delay 0

Video:

1080p downscaled to 720p @30 fps

ADvanced:

Multithread Optimization
x264 CPU preset Superfast
Scene Buffering Time 700ms
Using CFR
Keyframe Intervals 2 seconds.


Now the problem is that at the begining, no one had any issues, now some people have buffering, but when i restart my internet connection and stream, for 15-20 minutes no one has any problems, then, the buffering comes back.

I would really like to know what i can do to fix this, or maybe i dont know, learn to configure the stream? maybe its on me, maybe i have done something wrong when configuring.

If you are not partnered and have under a certain amount of viewers, the audience can not select what source they watch your stream on. So the issues the people who are buffering MAY have is the birate you stream at exceeds the birate they download at

So, i should lower the bitrate? wouldnt that result in a bad image for the viewers? like all choppy and stuff?

I read that, did that, that's not the issue here.

I was expecting some other answer than a lousy copy-paste. It may sound too demanding, but its not really.

I wouldn't have made a post if i didnt try the link you posted.

Oh and btw, all the people from that are watching, are from the same country as me, just different city, since Romania is not such a big country, its really hard for me to belive that number 6 best internet country in the world would have these kind of problems. (reffering to the fact that the server B that the data is delivered to and from there to the viewer is too far from some viewers hence the buffer)

As you stated in your original post, yes, the question has been asked a million times - that's why we have a fancy post with pictures that breaks everything down for you. While it provides some advice to help mitigate buffering for viewers, the link I provided is primarily meant to explain why users experience buffering.

If you've read the link then you already understand that the problem is unique to each viewer and is an issue of data not getting from Twitch to a viewer fast enough. You can have the best and fastest internet connection in the world, but you're still bound by the server sending you data and the path that data has to travel. The bottom line is that aside from not using an excessive bitrate or switching to a different streaming service it isn't a problem for you to fix because you don't have control over things like where your stream is served from or the route the data takes from the server to individual viewers.

So with this "lousy copy-paste" we have a detailed explanation for why the issue happens, and some steps you can try to reduce the issue for your viewers, both of which directly answer the questions you had. And on top of that I've now reiterated some of the same information from the post, so hopefully we have risen above lousy status at this point.

It wasn't ment as a criticism, rather than a disapointment. Ussualy moderators replaying in general have a post to reffer you for the problem, wich wasnt necesary in my case, as i thout i cleared up in the previous post.

Seems the problem was me, i thout I was doing something to make the stream look/feel bad, but as i have read today, from the last maintenance, alot of people on Twitch have problems with Loading Video, stream buffer and so on. So i think an apoplogy from my side is apropriate here, I'm sorry for the rude post, and thank you for the help you provided me with.

This was all i wanted to know, you can close this thread as its of no use to anyone now, thank you again for your time and patience.

I'd check your key frame interval. It sounds silly but with auto, your stream can slowly get out of sync since twitch requires a 2 second IDR
