Question / Help Stream and Capture different bitrates.

Is there anyway to Stream and Capture at different bitrates. Right now it looks like I can only stream and record at one bitrate, or is there a plugin that will allow you to record separate from the streaming bitrate.

That's not currently possible in the OBS because of the way it's written. This is certainly planned as a feature in the rewrite, however it's still a ways away.

I was looking at the advanced options for video, the part for custom x264 encoder settings if I put some setting there for higher bitrate would that just work for the recording or does it work for both recording and streaming. I would hope it would only work for recording but have a feeling its for both.

No, it's not currently possible with OBS, like mrasmus just said. You would need to either run two copies of OBS using the -portable switch, or use a program like Dxtory which can both record the game in high quality and send the data to OBS for streaming.
