Question / Help Strange Recording Framerate with 860K and GTX670

When I attempt to record with OBS (I've been testing by recording my desktop) with 1680x1050@60fps and about 1500 encoding, I get about 20 FPS with aero and 40 FPS without. This is only on the recording while when I am recording, the FPS I see is normal. In this log, I used 1000 encoding.I have tried recording with other programs and I have also got surprisingly low FPS. I would love some assistance!

My experience when I had my fx8350 is to do 60fps at that resolution is extremely hard on the CPU at very fast setting and that bitrate will just look blocky more then anything. Anyway to record that you could try a fast preset like supwrfast etc but I doubt you'll hit the 60fps at that resolution on very fast encoding. Best to downscale to 720 and maybe 45 at very fast you might be OK and it should look pretty good.

My settings I would try with that CPU is 720@30 and if you're only recording pump the bitrate up nice n high.

Oh and something else your card I believe should be able to use nvenc which would be better for you if you're recording. Just pump the nitrate up and you should get a nice 60 fps

Ok, I just felt very skeptical after my performance with other things, and then my recording potency to be even worse than my gt610

When I am recording with aero on, which i would prefer, it locks the framerate at 20, in settings its at 60, and my performance is fine, the framerate I see is perfect, yet the recording is at 20 constant. I am using the Nvidia nvenc encoder this time and the same results persist

Sounds like its syncing to me but would assume vsync, adaptive vsync and adaptive vsync (half frame rate) is turned off in nvidia control panel right? Always use game or window capture to get the vest results only monitor capture if necessary with windows 7.
