Re: Strange freeze lag out of nowhere, constant slowdown, et

Sorry for the double post, but I found some new results here: http://bit.ly/X0v8vw

As it turns out, my traffic is probably being shaped for streaming content, or at least something. If there was a way for me to test streaming on different ports, I would know. I'm pretty curious about this.

I did the test again and it came out normally, but for different ports. It's really weird.

I didn't think of it at the time, but cable actually has shared bandwidth usually per neighborhood. So if Charter isn't making sure there is enough bandwidth available for your neighborhood you'll end up with a poor connection. Does this only happen during peak hours?

I think it happens all the time, but I'll have to test it. But my speed overall is never affected, just my streams.

I wanted to post an update to this.

I tried to stream just now at around 3:30 AM and there was no difference; it was still completely horrible. I haven't been able to stream at more than 200Kbps for over a month now.

However, when I tried using the latest R&D build, I got a much more stable stream to at least hashd.tv. I haven't tested Twitch yet, but it's very late and I don't feel like trying any more.

I'm not able to stream at my full previous bitrate (1700Kbps) but at least it's something. I can stream at 1500Kbps and it's semi-stable, but the indicator goes between green and yellow and occasionally red, but it shows no dropped frames. I know this changes between different stream services, because I tried the private one I use sometimes and the connection was terrible. This may be due to the location, but I used to get a perfect connection there as well.

I don't know what to think of this. I don't know why I haven't been able to stream for so long, but at least I can try to get back into it with the test builds.

For reference, I'm going to upload my last few logs. The tests are very short, and I tried recording video to my HDD through OBS as well, so that may be in there too.
