Question / Help Still not working? [Solved]

Again short story short it not working on local recording no matter what I do!

1. Try MSI afterburner or some other program to limit FPS

Well I did, and guess it doesn't recognized it. Keep popping up a message.

1A. Delete it, reinstall and ignore message

Did it and two you can't ignore while in game or it crashes.

2.Try using lower in game settings

Tried that also does not matter if I run it on highest or lowest setting, I am still getting a lot of in game FPS issues.

3. You can't record in 720p

It ran better when running test in 720p anything lower it either crashed game or was really bad in FPS in game, it way it still is very framy in game. It does not matter what setting I put obs in.

4. Try uninstalling and reinstalling both game and obs

I did that and nope. all it did is waste my time.

5. Try removing monitor capture

Did that and yes it did help but still was very bad on in game FPS.

6. Use scenes you only need

Did that and really did not matter if I had 20 or 3 scenes, it still runs like garbage.

PLEASE DO NOT THINK I AM BASHING ON OBS, it ran before I swapped out graphics card.

Right now only OBS is good for is only live streaming xbox 360, like I said before I had no problem with obs until I upped the graphics card.

PC Specs:

Graphics: Ati Radeon Hd 5970 2 core 2gig on board memory
Memory: Gskill RipJaw Gaming Series (8 gig) DDR3 1600
HDD: Western Digital WD VelociRaptor WD6000HLHX 600GB 10000 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Power: Corsair GS 700w

I run a dual monitor

1: Asus VE248Q 24" LED LCD Monitor - 16:9 - 2 ms (Primary)
2: NEC Display Solutions LCD1970GX-BK Black 19" 8ms LCD Monitor 400 cd/m2 700:1

Network Specs: ISP: Comcast

Just someone please help! Like over Skype or something. All I have been getting from forums is people thinking I am trying to bash OBS, which frankly I don't have time for.

Here is my recent attempt:

Re: Still not working?

Looking at your logs...again...there are several clear instances of your GPU being the piece causing the bottleneck. I'd completely uninstall the drivers (maybe even use something like Driver Sweeper to really clean everything out), reseat the GPU, and then clean install new drivers.

If you do all that and are STILL having problems, you may have a faulty GPU.

Could you possibly spare a moment to help with that, so you are saying its the drivers for the graphics card

Re: Still not working?

So ran cc cleaner and driver sweep, and still framy in game but I guess output is fine to stream.

This is without msi afterburner:

Will update this post with log with msi in just a minute:

Re: Still not working?

Found solution "FRAPS" works perfectly fine running recording at 720p right now.

I will still use obs just to stream xbox but right now OBS bottlenecks my graphics card which is weird because like I stated before this is better than last one and the last was able to record no problem.

The Radeon 5970 is a dual GPU card, meaning that it's basically Crossfire on a single card, this can definitely cause issues when using Game Capture, as OBS can only run on one GPU at a time. There is currently no solution for this, and it's not very likely there will be one (with adequate performance) due to the way SLI and Crossfire work.

I am good now, I fixed issues using frap now for recording pc and obs for xbox. Only problem I have I have to load of editing if I want great mic feed and great video capture (webcam) but using fraps I only get around 36% total cpu usage.

Not to be pedantic, but it's your graphics card that is bottlenecking OBS, not the other way around.

Its a mixture of both of them, OBS can run fine by it self vice versa. You put both together not a great combo. I do appreciate you help. I am still stumped at why it won't work.

Is their anyway to work fraps and obs together because like I said I am barely getting any CPU usage drawn by fraps when playing.
