I'm having issues with recording a source port of a game that OBS Studio doesn't recognize as a game, so I use Window Capture instead. After installing the latest version of OBS, I was unable to record a video of said game; it showed a still image with all the sound from the recording present. I searched and tried a number of fixes for this issue but none of them worked.
Oddly, I was able to record this same game smoothly back in January, so I figured it may have something to do with the version of OBS I had at the time. I remember I had this same issue at that time but I was somehow able to resolve it. I re-installed OBS Studio Version 30.0.0 (the first version I installed, dated last November) and tried recording it again, but the video turned out choppy each time. And I'm sure I didn't change any settings that would have caused this, as I almost never mess with them.
I don't understand what's wrong here. How can I get OBS Studio to record this game smoothly the way it did before?
