Question / Help Steaming games to multiple services with -multi doesn't work

I added -multi to the shortcut and started 2 instances of OBS, both streaming the same game (to two different services).

The first instance worked as usual. But the second one gave me a blank screen. Video capture worked in both instances though.

What service were you streaming to in the second instance?

What happens if you start the streams in the opposite order?

It's still the same.

I don't think it is related to the services I stream to, because the preview doesn't work either (blank screen).

But it's worth noting that if I stop streaming in the first instance, the game capture will become available in the second instance right away.

Explain how you set up your shortcuts using -multi.

Are you using the same copy of OBS twice, or two different copies of OBS?

Personally I use the 32 bit version of OBS for one setup and the 64 bit version of OBS for the other, makes it easier when there's software updates.

Are you trying to stream content from a capture card or webcam? Directshow devices can only be used by one program at a time.

No, I'm trying to stream from a game capture.

I've tired:

• 2 x86 instances
• 1 x86 instance and 1 x64 instance
• 2 x64 instances

None of them works. The second instance always gives me a blank screen.

Can you run your game in some sort of borderless windowed mode? If you do that and make sure Aero is enabled, you can use Window Capture for the second instance of OBS. It will have the same performance and same quality as Game Capture.
