There is a lot of strangeness in your log, but why are you trying to capture steam.exe?
First of all, remove all the unnecessary elements from the scene you're using. Make sure
NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M is selected on the "Video" tab in OBS settings. Use Game Capture element on the scene and attach it to the game you will be playing after you've launched it with Steam. Hope it helps!

Since you're using a laptop you might also find this helpful: https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/laptop-black-screen-when-capturing-read-here-first.5965/

hi flavored

I tried what u said but it didn't work. It is probably just because the fact I don't understand what the 'scene' is?

so the NVidia is selected already and I looked at the site u linked but it didn't work?

so it's ok if u don't want to help me but it is really frustrating knowing that laptops don't work as good

Ok so I was playing around and I found out that there was a F12 button for a recording thing where you can hit the button and the app automatically makes itself on the recording...? am I right?

Hi guys

Just a thought. Does the F12 button in the OBS settings make it possible for the game capture to capture the game?

Just a thought

Yes, if you've set up game capture and chose a hotkey method, once you switch back into the game and press F12 you should be able to capture it.
