Static with headphone input recording; no static without headphones

Up until 2 weeks ago, OBS worked fine for me with simple Zoom call recordings I made. I do not recall making any changes in OBS' settings but 2 weeks ago, the sound on the videos produced turned to static. You cannot hear anything, just a white noise static. Today, I tried many things to troubleshoot, including an uninstall and reinstall of OBS. Nothing has worked.

I tried a different set of headphones, did not work.

I just tried unplugging the headphones and it works now. I can hear the sound from my laptop (tested using a Youtube video) and I can hear myself talking. Headphones = static; no headphones = back to normal.

Help please! I'd like to resume using my headphones for recording web meeting calls.

Just noting that I have tried following the guidelines in this post:

Here are screenshots of my audio settings:

Sometimes it is the simplest things we miss! I updated my drivers and I believe it was a Realtek update that did the trick. I needed to reset my Settings > Audio sources but after that, I am back in business!
