Question / Help Sound Issues

Hi its just a quick one really and I imagine that it is something really simple but I am struggling to sort it out.

I am using OBS to stream live DJ sets via YouTube have done a couple of test runs but I am having issues with the sound. For some reason when I listen back to anything I have streamed it appears as though I am getting two layers of the same sound. My first thought is that as well as the sound coming through the line in on my soundcard I am also getting the sound being picked up by the microphone on my webcam.

So basically is there anyway I can isolate the sound so that OBS is only picking up the music being played through my mixer and into my line in? or has anyone had similar experiences and what did you do to resolve the problem?

Thanks for the awesome piece of software too!

If we are talking the original OBS then there are only two things being recorded. desktop (what you hear) and mic (this could be set up as a line in or mic). both have volume adjustments on the main window of OBS.

OBS Multiplatform takes this a few steps further allowing more audio channels a adjustments to be made. That being said, I have yet to experiment with the different channels but I know it is more diverse.

Im not sure if it is the original or multiplatform tbh. I came across the software as it was recommended by YouTube when I decided that I was going to stream via their service (we already had a channel set up on there which has decent traffic)

It definitely sounds as though it is picking up two inputs though and it seemed to start about 20 minutes into a session at a point where I turned up the volume via my amp, hence the reason I thought it may be picking up the microphone on my webcam. I'm going to have a play around when I get home and see if I can sort it....when you say it records the desktop do you mean anything that is playing through the computer at the time of streaming? As I guess that could mean that the stream was playing on my desktop which would be pretty much the same scenario as the webcam mic in terms of it picking up two signals. Would reducing the desktop volume on OBS resolve this?
