Sound has become quiet

I have been doing videos for youtube and using a yeti microphone. All has been going well and the sound quality has been very good. My voice has sounded crisp and loud with no background noise. Now for no apparent reason, the sound on my videos has become poor quality and low volume. If I increase the gain on the microphone, whilst this makes it louder it also adds a hissing/feedback sound in the background making the overall quality awful.

I can't work out what is causing this as I haven't made any changes to any settings. Is this an issue with the microphone or OBS?

Any help is appreciated because I can't work out how to fix this which means I can't produce videos.
 
Has video image quality changed, or is the poor quality you refer to only in regards to Audio?
In my environment, we ran into an issue as a new person used OBS PC and selected the wrong thing when plugging in microphone into PC and the Sound driver/optimization chose headset vs line-ine/mic

So, first thing I'd do is make sure mic connection to Windows OS (with OBS not even running) is as it should be
Then, did you update OBS recently? are you using any 3rd party plugin/filters/effects?
