Before I posted this I looked at the guides and other peoples questions but I'm doing something wrong. I'm just trying to record my Dark Souls 2 runs *not streaming* and no matter what I do I always get pixelations. Here are my comp specs:

sorry about my poor formatting coding powers.

  • Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 8.00 GB
  • AMD Radeon R9 200 Series Graphics Card
  • 1T hard drive
  • CPU 3.8GHz

Current OBS specs:
Encoding

  • CBR:enabled; CBR Padding: Enabled
  • Quality balance 5
  • Max/Min Bitrate 1275
  • AAC Audio Codec
Video

  • Base Resolution 1920x1080
  • Resolution Downscale 1281x720
  • Filter: Lanczos, and Bicubic (tried both later was more pixelated)
  • FPS 60
Advance

Let me know if you guys need anything and I will add it. Also sorry for bugging you guys I know you get these answers a lot but I tried what others where suggestion and was still getting pixels. I got no where else to look T_T

With 1275 kbits you bitrate is way too low for a resolution like that. Try 20000 if you want a constant bitrate.

For the best possbile result set the max bitrate to 1000 set your quality balance to 10, enable custommer buffer size and set it to 0. Go to advanced options and activate custom x264 parameters and enter this custom value: crf=20. The lower you set the crf value the higher the quality of your video will be. A value of 20 will output a great looking video. If you want to upload your videos to youtube the quality should be more than sufficant.
Here is a guide about local recordings written by jack0r.

Thank you it seems like I was looking in the wrong place >///>, this is embarrassing. I guess I got more frustrated then I thought if I missed something like RESOURCE. Thanks for the help, and sorry for wasting space and time when the answer was in front of me.

The power of reading is scary, so is hindsight.
