I would like to know what is the best settings and preset to use on OBS to stream smoothly using my xbox One and Avermedia Live GamerPortable.

I tried a lot of settings but nothing seems to be good.

My upload speed is from 8000 kb/s so no connection issue at this point

Here are my laptop specs:
 - Msi GE60 Laptop PC
 - Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3230M CPU @ 2.60GHz (2 physical 2 logical cpu's
 - Memory: 8096MB RAM
- Gpu: Nvidia GeForce gt650m
- 128 gb micron ssd 500 gb hdd
 - OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1
 - DirectX Version: DirectX 11
- Obs version: last 64 bits build (0.638 beta)

I tried x264 encoding who offer the best quality but it consumes a lot of cpu activity.

I want to know if use my Intel hd4000 chipset will be a good alternative ? (I saw it will be better that use gpu encode)

I don't have a log yet but I can put it here later if you want.

I tried a lot of settings it cost me all my night.

Some help to offer a decent a stable quality will be appreciated

I know that laptop is not the best way but I only have that for at this time

Thanks in advance for anyone's help !

Using x264 (which should give you the best quality, yes) your laptop should probably be able to stream in 720p at 30 fps, maybe a bit more.
So I would probably configure OBS like that:
Base Resolution: 1280x720
No downscale, FPS: 30
Bitrate around 2000 to 3000max
The rest of the settings should be fine on default (use the optimize button in the broadcast settings if you are going to stream to twitch.tv).
You might have to resize your Live Gamer Portable source in OBS to fit to screen, for example if your consoles run at a higher resolution.

If your laptop supports QuickSync you could also use it but expect a lower quality at the same bitrates. Quicksync uses your Intel integrated Graphics Chip to do the video encoding. But if you are mainly streaming console footage just stick to x264 and use your CPU.

Thanks for advice will try and make some tests

I tried to set the base resolution to 1280*720 but the stream appears zoomed. (cause the original input signal is in 1080 I mean)

With scene adjust I can fix this problem ? Will try too

Yep scene adjust, or right-click the source that is zoomed in, Position/Size -> Fit source to screen or press CTRL+F on your Keyboard!

Really thank I thought I couldn't change this due the fact xbox One was on 1080 output.

I made a twitch channel test to adjust my settings I'm gonna try what you told me.

I made a test with Intel HD graphics I had 35% cpu load is it normal usage ?

The problem is I want to monitor my stream when live using Firefox (adobe flash player will running) .

This combination take at least 10% of cpu load on my laptop so I need to find the best way to do it without my computer throttle too much

Sorry if my English looks bad I'm from France.

Thanks for help again !
