I just downloaded OBS to record videos because I was having some trouble with Camtasia's recorder. I followed a setup tutorial on YouTube from a streamer. I made a few adjustments to suit the recording of videos. I had to turn my mic/aux boost to 5 because I was so quite, but even then I could here the distortion.
I have looked at various guides and through the forums, and I can't find anything. I have updated my graphics card (as suggested), updated my sound card, downloaded the OBS mic plugin, played around with the resolution (don't know why that would affect my mic), and I do not own a web cam.
To describe the sound, it's like a bit of a hiss with a crackle, just an overall distortion. I do not have this problem with other applications.
