Question / Help [Solved] CBR Enabled, Twitch Says Otherwise

Twitch is complaining about my bitrate sometimes, here's a sample message:

The broadcast is not set to constant bitrate (CBR). [Current average: 1561 kbps, current max: 2346.0 kbps]

I have CBR and CFR enabled since I would like people to be able to watch on mobile devices. Anything I can really do about this? At a guess I'd say enabling a custom buffer size perhaps, but I'm no expert.

Odd, what game are you streaming?

You can try enabling custom buffer size and make it smaller, say, 1000kbps, and see if that helps.

Today it was Civ 5, but I've had a similar message for a couple of different games.

Will the custom buffer size affect my picture quality or dropped frames or anything like that?

It shouldn't affect frame drops, but it will probably make your picture quality drop a bit the more you lower it.

ive been getting that too and ive ticked and re ticked the option.

im set to 3200 and it gives me a top end figure of about 4000.

on other occasions though it says i have excellent stream settings so i was thinking it was a bug or glitch?

Started getting these messages in my log, is this directly related to changing the buffer from 1500 to 1000?

Code:
23:08:30: RTMPPublisher::SendLoop: Stalled for 2227 ms to write 204670 bytes (buffer: 0 / 207872), unstable connection?
23:08:37: RTMPPublisher::SendLoop: Stalled for 2212 ms to write 207856 bytes (buffer: 0 / 207872), unstable connection?
23:18:12: RTMPPublisher::SendLoop: Stalled for 1797 ms to write 206838 bytes (buffer: 0 / 207872), unstable connection?
23:18:14: RTMPPublisher::SendLoop: Stalled for 1636 ms to write 204238 bytes (buffer: 0 / 207872), unstable connection?
23:30:47: RTMPPublisher::SendLoop: Stalled for 1770 ms to write 205168 bytes (buffer: 0 / 207872), unstable connection?
23:30:55: RTMPPublisher::SendLoop: Stalled for 1966 ms to write 205278 bytes (buffer: 0 / 207872), unstable connection?
23:31:35: RTMPPublisher::SendLoop: Stalled for 1586 ms to write 207159 bytes (buffer: 0 / 207872), unstable connection?
23:33:22: RTMPPublisher::SendLoop: Stalled for 1773 ms to write 203933 bytes (buffer: 0 / 207872), unstable connection?

As an aside, changing the buffer size did seem to resolve the issue and my Twitch quality has always been rated "excellent" when I check now. But now I have the above problems, I'm not sure if it's just standard dropped frames or not.

Edit - Attached the log file just in case.

Re: CBR Enabled, Twitch Says Otherwise

Those messages are more related to having an unstable connection to the streaming server, nothing to do with buffer size.

All righty, I hadn't seen them before so I thought maybe it was because of the buffer size change, or perhaps just the new version giving more detail in the logs about dropped frames.

Thanks for the help, sir dodgepong!
