Question / Help So I powered off my PC after a great 40min recording. - File won't open

So I powered off my pc (in sleep mode) then remembered about the obs running, so I turned it back on. Next thing I know, a great tech support scammer video with HILARIOUS results wouldn't work. Is there any way to get that file back .-.

This is why you save video as flv, mp4 becomes corrupt when it isn't finalized properly.

And before you ask, no, there's no way to repair a corrupt/truncated MP4. ALWAYS record to FLV.

Which is why you remux it to MP4 later when you need it. It's super quick since MP4/FLV is just the container format.

Change the format OBS records to by simply changing the filename you're recording to. Make it end in flv instead of mp4. Literally that easy.
