Question / Help Smooth Scene Switching

I am integrating some video clips as scenes within OBS.

The problem is that when I switch scenes I get at least a 4-5 second delay (well maybe that a bit of an overstatement, but its noticeable)

Is there a recommendation to resolve this? I see smooth transitions on streams that claim to be using OBS (I know Xsplit does it) but havent been able to figure out how to accomplish it.

Some interesting comments, mostly related to making all sources global. Make sense, but would all of the global sources take up more resources since they are all loaded each time OBS is launched..
