Question / Help Smooth but dark and low quality

My recordings are too dark and quite low quality here are the settings I use.

Please post a complete log file that contains a streaming or recording attempt (basically we need you to reproduce the issue so we can look at the associated log and see what happened).

Still no streaming/recording attempts present. First restart OBS, then start your stream/recording for a minute or two and stop it again. Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc. When you're done select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File. Copy the URL and paste it here.

Use the local recording quality presets in Simple output mode, that should sort out the quality issue.

Did you change any of the color options under Settings > Advanced? Washed-out or too-dark colors are usually the result of something like setting the color range incorrectly.

How are you checking the video quality? Those settings aren't going to output anything that looks bad.

Im not checking it, it just looks pixely and bad. I'm using VLC to view the video.
