Bug Report Small Problem with Quick Sync Video

Hi there!

I apologize, english isn't my native language but i'll do my best.

I think i found a bug.

Here is how to reproduce it:

Use Quick Sync Video,
Set base resolution to 1920x1080,
Set downscale to 852x480,
Start the stream then look at the right side of your stream. There is a vertical green line at the edge.

The bug won't show up if: you downscale it to 1280x720 or when you downscale it to 852x480 but you don't use quick sync.

It works with all capture methods, game capture, window capture, monitor capture.
It's there even with an empty scene without any capture method just a simple image in it.

Hi guys i don't really want to bump this thread but any of you tried this out?

If yes do you experience the same problem as i do?

Or does it have to do something with the new version of OBS and my 'old' i5 2500 with intel hd graphics 2000?

Might a newer versions of intel cpu - hd graphics don't have this problem? Like the Ivy or Haswell cpus?

Should i use a different version of OBS if i'd like to stream in 480p with quicksync?

Is this even a bug?

Any opinion and or idea would be really appreciated.

Does anyone else see the green on the side? I really am not seeing it. Either that or it's nearly unnoticeable in the vod.

Do you have a more pronounced example?

oh goodness, wow. That was a funny way of showing it, but thank you, I do see it now. Almost totally invisible on my monitor otherwise. Also, the posting of the logs is most appreciated (even if we don't necessarily always need them), thank you for doing so.

I'm not the quicksync expert but I do have a suspicion of what this is. You might have to deal with it for the time being though. I don't think it's a huge deal because it doesn't appear to be noticeable, but this might only apply for certain monitors. It might be much more visible on others.

I thought that my monitor(s) have problems or my eyes deceive me. :)))))))))

So then i just gona use 1920x1080 downscaling to 960x540. It's weird that it only appears on 852x480.

I got a samsung lcd p2450 as my main and on this monitor it appears like a "wtf is that green line there" thingy. :)

But on my other monitors (a crt and an older lcd on a secondary computer) its not that much of a problem. Just a bit weird. :)

I really appreciate that you put the time and effort dealing with my posts.

I'm really amazed and really appreciate the work you guys put into this awesome piece of software.

nonamestreamer, lol i was actually gripped by constant enlarging of the green line, i kept asking myself... "will he do it again"... and you delivered, thank you :D lol

This may sound stupid, but have you tried making an image that is of different colour (ie black) and have it on the lowest layer in OBS?

I mentioned before it doesn't matter what you do the green line is still there.

As Jim said he have an idea what this is and that's far enough for me. Only matter that they are aware of this 'thing'. :)

Hello :)

Once again, absolutely gripped with the green line enlarging lol - i really need to get out more :D

On http://www.twitch.tv/nonamestreamerobs/c/3177323 I can't see any green line at all, i run at 1920x1080 and it all looks ok. I have gone full screen, zoomed in, and cant see it at all, if you download the VOD from twitch - is the green line there in the video editor?

After downloading the green line is gone.

I checked on different monitors and systems. The green line is there in the Twitch's vod and while livestreaming. Weird.

Hello :)

I would assume its probably a flash player issue then, i had a bit of a look around the web, and came across quite a few people saying they were seeing a green line when using flash.

A lot of people suggested disabling the flash hardware acceleration by:

Right click on video to bring up the Adobe Flash Player box. Uncheck the hardware acceleration.
