Question / Help Should I upgrade my CPU or GPU?

Hello! I am looking into upgrading my PC but am not sure if I should go with GPU or CPU first. I am looking at around $150 for a GPU, which I think a GTX 750TI in comparison to my HD5570 is BEAST. I should mention I am primarily streaming DayZ so I'm thinking it MIGHT be more worth it to upgrade my cpu? I am looking at around $200 and am thinking an I5-4690K or I5-4670K.

Better CPU and GPU would both be good upgrades considering what you have now. You can't upgrade to a 4670K/4690K without replacing your motherboard. Your current i5-2320 uses Socket LGA1155, which supports processors like the i5-3570K and i7-3770K. The 750Ti is also a last-generation product, a GTX960 would probably be more suitable.

The best CPU for your board would be an i7-3770. If you're up to changing entire platforms, then a cheap alternative is an intel Xeon E3 1231 v3 CPU, or the i7-4790S.

If you're sticking with your current board and not interested in overclocking, the 3770 should be cheaper than the 3770K.

If you're upgrading your board and not overclocking, the above Xeon and 4790S are good ideas. If you are overclocking, the 4790K is a good, more expensive alternative that can give some extreme power if set correctly.

I personally suggest keeping your current board and waiting until Skylake and AMD's ZEN processors are out before changing platform.

The GTX 750Ti is a great card for around $120 USD, and I definitely suggest it for a low-cost upgrade. It's fine for DayZ, which quickly runs into CPU bottlenecks left and right before taking advantage of hugely powerful GPUs.

Ok so I ended up getting an HD7950 for $140, not too bad. Waiting for it to come, but from the specs its sure to be amazing! I'll post any outcomes, next: CPU upgrade!
