Question / Help Settings making me lag (?)

(This is for World of Warcraft)

So I used a VoD analyzer someone linked me http://r-1.ch/analyze-twitch-vod.php and copied the settings from a guy's stream (he streams with 0.8 upload and has a generally slower PC than me).

Now I tried streaming with those settings, and I have 0.90 upload. The problem is I seem to be getting alot of lag when I stream (35-40 ms > 80-100) and I'm not sure what settings to really change so it doesn't fuck up the quality even more but still make me able to play. Oh and I also seem to drop a little bit of frames at times.

Here's a log.

Edit: Also now I can't even stream anymore, OBS keeps crashing and trying to reconnect, tried cable, wireless, using the newest client, using an older version, restarting net, etc..

Lag as in ping? If so, try 'minimize network impact' in broadcast settings. Other than that though your upload is really limited, which might also be a factor.

And about the crashing? Also I know my upload is limited to 450p~ but I want to stream since the guy I watched could do so without lag or fps drops with worse stats than me and it motivated me to try.

try medium preset instead of slower if your ping isnt the problem. if your ping is the problem lower your bitrate even more

Wooaa, I totally dd not notice that you were running on a bad preset. That's definitely going to affect the game I'm betting.

Idk I just copied what the twitch analyzer program said it to be and it said estimated preset: slower

And I just don't understand how he (twitch.tv/shinta94) can get so good quality with so low upload and shit when I can't even get anywhere close..

It's usually by trial and error and depends on your system. You can squeeze out higher quality with things like preset, but it also depends on your computer, and requires a little bit of know-how with a little bit of trial and error.

Do you have any advice for me regarding the matter then? Because I really want to try and stream in a similar quality as his.

I couldn't tell you exactly without being on your machine and doing the whole trial and error process on my own.
