Hey guys/gals,

I need some help setting up my OBS.
My ingame resolution is 1280x960 I plan on streaming to 720@30fps (maybe 45 if thats worth it?)
Btw if I choose to play 1280x720 res do I just put no downscale? or still downscale to 720p.

This is my current setup:
AMD 8320 @ 4.4 ghz
GTX 760 MSI
8 GB RAM

I got a 50 down / 5 upload connection (http://testmy.net/bkxuXKG.png).

I will mainly be streaming CS:GO. Now I've been reading alot of posts about bitrate and alot of people have been saying that If I'm not partnered I shouldn't go higher then 2500 bitrate is this true? Because If I go 3500 bitrate I cant watch my own stream.

About process priority should I keep this at normal, because CS:GO is pretty CPU heavy I think. What about CPU preset do I just leave it at veryfast?

Hope you guys can answer some of my questions thanks.

You just set the downscale to 1.25 or 1.5, and let it take care of the resolution. There is no downscale that will net you exactly 720p, it will be 768p or 640p. Its not a big deal. I recommend 640p at the 1.5 downscale. It also won't be widescreen, but because your source resolution isn't widescreen, that is appropriate.

Keep it at 30fps. Twitch / Flash has trouble playing back more than about 40 FPS anyways and 30fps is a safe number.

You can set whatever bitrate you want up to 3500, but the higher you set the bitrate, the harder it is for people to view it. Personally I use 3000 bitrate and 2000 buffer, setting a buffer lower than the bitrate reduces bitrate spiking, and I think that's the real problem for most people.

Thanks for the suggestions. One last question @ 3500 bitrate I seem to have some ping problems, should I just settle with 3000 bitrate or use 3500 with minimize ping impact?

I would use the lower bitrate, but there's no harm in trying each and coming to your own conclusion.
