Hi! So I am absolutely new to streaming and I decided to choose OBS. I want to stream League of Legends games and I have no clue how to setup OBS, I already downloaded it and Launched but I've got no idea how to set it up and if I am even able to stream on my PC.

Here's my speedtest:

Here's my PC:
AMD Athlon(tm) II X3 455 Processor 3.30 GHz
RAM 4GB
NVIDIA GeForce GT 430
Windows 7 Ultimate.
Tell me if I should even bother streaming or is my pc too bad. /Excuse my poor English.

First of all, run an upload test here instead. Making sure to pick a server close to you, one near a server you would stream to as well. Typically, for someone from Poland that would be Frankfurt. Although I can recommend trying Amsterdam instead. Twitch.TV Frankfurt has had some issues and Amsterdam sits on top of the Amsterdam Internet Exchange.

Testmy.net is more accurate for purposes of streaming.

Secondly, I think your PC should be able to handle streaming LoL just fine. If you set it up properly.

LoL is kind of weird and annoying to stream, since it uses a 2-window model. What you'd do is the following:

-- Get OBS (obviously).
-- Get this plugin.
-- Set up 2 scenes:
  • Game (or Window) capture of its main window.
  • Game Capture of its game window (the actual match)
That way you can have the plugin switch automatically between the 2 scenes. Making the use of Monitor Capture (which a lot of people streaming LoL try at first) completely unnecessary. Monitor Capture typically gives the weakest performance.

Edit: Added information/suggestion regarding Twitch.TV server to stream to.

Okay, I'll do the Scene Switcher thingy, but what about setting up OBS?
I've got completely no idea how to set it up.

Re-read my post, added some information.

Anyhow, we'd need to know first what your real world upload to Amsterdam (or Frankfurt) is like. Can't give you specifics otherwise.

There was no Frankfurt so I had to use the Amsterdam one. Btw. Sorry for the delay was busy doing something else.

1920x1800 - about 100-130 FPS, I will be satisfied in streaming with just 1280x720 which is 720p.

#Edit: I think it's less than 130, about 80-100 it is. But I've got everything on very high and 1080p.

#Edit: That's exactly what I meant 1920x1080*, simple missclick.

1920x1800? I'm going to assume you meant 1920x1080. Anyhow, enable VSync (to avoid page/screen tearing) and you should not have any issue whatsoever streaming in 720p @ 60 FPS. You can just use the downscale filter (Lanczos) to scale it down to 720p while playing it at 1080.

So, go into Settings -> Encoding -> Enable CBR -> Max Bitrate: 2500 (3500 is the unofficial maximum accepted by the Twitch.tv staff but is not really required for a MOBA.

Settings -> Video -> Resolution: 1920x1080 (still assuming that is what you meant) -> Downscale -> 1.50 (720p), set the filter to Lanczos (32 samples). Framerate: 60.

Settings -> Broadcast Settings -> Fill out as needed/required. You can find your stream key in your Twitch.TV dashboard (under Streaming Apps).

Then all you need to do is set up the scenes properly. Have a go, make an example broadcast and show us what it's like. So we can finetune it.

Should I use only CBR or CBR Padding also?
Should I use Frankfurt or Amsterdam as server? Amsterdam is further than Frankfurt.

Well, grabbing the scene switched would make it easier for you, since it would do it automatically.

And I would recommend Amsterdam either way, since it sits on top of the Amsterdam Internet Exchange and consequently is likely to have a better connection across the ocean.

CBR Padding is enabled by default, just leave it there.

You were on the right track in the video, lowering the settings but I would push it further. Just keep resolution and textures high. Keep everything else off/low. Shadows, Physics, Particle Effects all don't come across too well on-stream anyhow and it's not why people watch LoL anyway.
