Question / Help Second PC to offload the stream to?

Hey everyone, I have been trying to stream for awhile with a pretty good comp but having lots of trouble with stuttered gameplay and massive fps dips so I have decided it would be best to just buy a second PC used only for streaming my games. I have an avermedia hd live gamer capture card so I assume I could slap that in the new pc and set the stream software on the new pc and do it that way? My question is would a $300 barebones AMD computer be able to do what I want? Like 720P nice looking stream? I was looking into this http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... nQodtUIArg

I have about $400 to spend to make sure I have an awesome looking stream while maintaining great fps on my gaming machine.

I do this with the same capture card and a E4300 Core2Duo for the second computer, and it struggles mightily when I try to get the compression/quality up. For now I'm not even streaming and just recording to the hard drive, which I can use for highlights or whatnot. Game is Planetside 2, which is so CPU intensive its unrealistic to run OBS on the same computer.

I'm not sure what you can get for ~$300 these days but I recommend a CPU much better than the one my secondary computer has. Check the various CPU comparison charts linked around here and on the internet at large, and make sure it benches at least twice as good as my E4300. Also go for something with more than 2 cores IMO, either 2 cores with hyperthreading or 3 or 4 actual cores.

FYI, I plan on upgrading my primary PC when Intel's Haswell comes out in early June, and then my current PC will be demoted to streaming PC, and then I'm hoping all this will no longer be any worry. But that plan will cost me a bit more than $300. :)

that pc is more than enough for stremaing. That is AMD phenom six core processor. It is good processor for rendering and encoding because it has more cores and can do more encoding in same time because of that. I recommend you that build for streaming pc.
