schedule streaming to start and stop automatically on a weekly basis and record the event?

Really new to using OBS and was wondering if there are instructions on how to schedule the camera using OBS to automatically start recording and stop recording on a set time each week? We would probably use YouTube or FaceBook for the video and we would want to it to go live during the recording. Thanks for any help!

There are YouTubes about using Windows Task Scheduler to start OBS at the desired time, and adding some command-line flags to have it start streaming and recording immediately with whatever it comes up with. That works without installing anything, but the Advanced Scene Switcher plugin makes it a whole lot more maintainable!

And that only scratches the surface of what Adv. SS can do! One of my rigs has enough macros to automate different things, that I need a separate poster to keep track of them all.

The idea here is to already have OBS running - not doing anything, just sitting there - and when the time comes, it "just happens". Any method to start OBS ahead of time is fine, automatic or manual.

We've used Adv SS for this in the past but have moved to Bitfocus Companion and the Triggers function there recently. Ideally, we'd love to have an online schedule that OBS could read from.

That might be something that Adv. SS could be made to do. You might ask in that thread, and see if the author could add that functionality. Some of what it does now, are because *I* asked for it...

There is a way to pull from a local file, but I am looking to centralize without adding a bunch of overhead like having a local file that syncs or something like that.
