Hi there,
I am currently using a MacBook Pro with a capture card (running windows) as my streaming PC.
the CPU is pretty under powered tho, so i stream using quick sync.
The only problem with that is that the quality is not very good at normal bitrates (currently streaming at 3000 kbps), and if I put it up much higher than that then my viewers may not be able to view the stream due to how much data will need to be downloaded.
What i would like to do is send my stream to my server at a much higher bitrate (say 12000 kbps) and then have the server re-encode (transcode) the stream with its decent CPU at a lower bitrate, but at a higher quality.
The server is running Centos 6, if anyone knows how to set this up then that would be brilliant.
Thanks,
Sam
