Previous response reported as spam. Both the post and the new user. But it did put you at the top of the list again for me to see, so I guess that's a plus?

Anyway, 8 seconds is normal. Commercial broadcasts are often several *minutes* behind, by the time they get through all the contractual handoffs with each one adding their bit to it. My YouTube streams are about 10 seconds behind.

When you consider what the server is doing, and the work that that takes, to live-produce a bunch of different qualities for different viewers' connections to keep them all smooth, 8-10 seconds is really not bad at all!

YouTube has a setting for "low-latency", which I don't use because it risks breaking up. If you must have closer to real-time interaction, you might see if IG has something similar, but remember the risk of using it.
