Question / Help Reporting a Chinese OBS ripoff stealing source code and doesn't remain opensource

Dear moderators and developers, days before I reported there's a Chinese game streaming site called Zhanqi used OBS's source code to make their own broadcast tool, and they didn't make it open-sourced.

As far as I know OBS is under GNU/GPL v2, they should at least open source the code they've modified. For the spirit of open source I had few talks with their main dev and that guy claimed the tool didn't violate rules since it only linked to OBS's library, which I can't check and confirm.

As the time I'm writing this post, the download link is still up and displays on their main page. Here's a screenshot of it:

I'd like to ask if OBS's team can take a look at the tool and take actions when it's necessary. Thanks for reading this.

It's 100% using OBS code and falls under the GPL. Unfortunately with them being in China, it's unlikely there's anything that can be done about it other than naming and shaming, especially as none of the core dev staff can speak Chinese.

Such a shame. The whole point of open source is that everyone can participate in making a specific piece of software bigger and better, more feature rich etc etc. Pretty much u all receive a well rounded product and u help to shape it up to a bigger product than u originaly had in your hands. The key thing is to give back the source code u added so the rest of the open source community can work on top of it and further expand the possibilities of the software.

Its just so bad to see someone clearly ripping the work of some really talented individuals and claiming it as their own.

Whats most funny is, they didnt even bother to use different file names (ObsNvenc.dll, OBSApi.dll). They either didn't even want to hide that they use your software or they are just plain dumb and overlooked that fact.
