Question / Help Regarding Ultrabook Performance and Wifi

Hey all,

I like the idea of being able to broadcast from an ultrabook, namely the new Dell XPS 13.

5th Gen Intel Core i5-5200U Processor (3M Cache, up to 2.70 GHz)
8GB Dual Channel DDR3L-RS 1600Mhz
802.11ac + Bluetooth 4.0, Dual Band 2.4&5 GHz, 2x2

1) Could I stream Hearthstone on this thing in 720p at 60fps?

2) Is streaming over Wifi possible? The notebook doesn't come with an Ethernet port. I have 20, 000 kbps upload.

With wireless, it's the signal strength that's important really. If you've got full bars, then you should be ok. My streaming PC connects to the internet via a wifi bridge between two routers and I have not yet dropped a packet, even streaming at 3500Kbps.

Also, I have an ultrabook with an i5 3337 and that can encode 720p30 on veryfast, so I think your 5200 should be ok with the same settings on 60fps

So 720p at 60fps may be possible but will my notebook overheat if I do decide to broadcast? I've always been under the impression that it's not a good idea to stream unless you have excellent CPU cooling.

Why don't you just try and monitor your CPU condition? I'm extremely interested in results, since I'm looking towards buying an ultrabook to encode my stream into 720p 2mbit/s from 1080p 4.5mbit/s for twitch.
